The Hayfield School has been rated the best state secondary school in Doncaster by a website that monitors the performance of schools over the past year.

Many parents in the borough are currently choosing secondary schools for the children to start in September 2016.

The website - - has rated all the secondary schools with sixth forms in the area according to key performance data including exam results, Ofsted reports, ‘value added’ score and pupil to teacher ratio.

It only includes schools with sixth forms, which has attracted some criticism from schools such as Hungerhill School, in Edenthorpe, which has no sixth form but has been highly rated by other measures, having recently been selected to become a National Teaching School as a result of its excellent teaching standards and student outcomes.
