THREE Doncaster schools have been praised by the Schools Minister Nick Gibb for being some of the most improved in the country.
Balby Carr Community Sports and Science College, Don Valley School and Performing Arts College and Hungerhill School have all received praise from the Minister who sent his personal congratulations each of the headteachers.
The three schools are part of a list of 105 in England who have improved the number of pupils getting at least 5 A* to C grade GCSEs each year for the last four years.
Mr Gibb said: “I would like to congratulate your staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success and to thank you for your leadership in continuing the drive towards the highest standards of educational achievement.”
“It is vital that young people are equipped with the academic knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in life.
“We want every schoolto be an excellent school – that is why we are driving up academic standards by encouraging the best graduates into teaching, developing a world-class curriculum, and improving behaviour in our classrooms.”
