Drink driver caught travelling wrong way on M1
Police officers managed to avert disaster after stopping a man driving south on the northbound M1 over the twice the drink drive limit this morning.
A police spokesman said: "Officers bravely rammed him to stop the potential fatal consequences."
The incident happened just north of Meadowhall before 6am this morning (Sunday February 7).
Two police officers suffered minor injuries.
