One of Doncaster’s most tireless voluntary workers has been nominated for a prestigious Freedom of the Borough award.
Doncaster Council has put Bobbie Roberts MBE, who has worked for the Doncaster Deaf Trust for more than 35 years, forward for a Freedom of the Borough Award.
Councillors will make their final decision on the award at a full council meeting on Thursday, January 15.
Bobbie, aged 77, has devoted her life to helping others, particularly young people and those who deserve a chance in life.
Bobbie, a nurse by profession who served as a magistrate in Doncaster for 34 years, was awarded an MBE for her services to justice in 2005.
She has also previously been awarded a Lifetime Achievement honour by the Doncaster Free Press.
