Doncaster Rovers: We know what's required now - Rowe

Tommy Rowe hopes the point gained at Chesterfield proves to be a crucial one come the final reckoning.

But the on-loan Wolves midfielder accepts it has left Doncaster Rovers with absolutely no room for error in their final three games.

“I think we worked really hard,” said Rowe, whose sixth minute goal was cancelled out by Gboly Ariyibi’s strike, reflecting on the 1-1 draw.

“We had some chances to win it which we know we should’ve taken.

“But it’s one of those where we’ve got a point and it’ll only be a good point if we win our next three games.

“We know what we need to do now.

“We’re focused on Saturday. And it’s good to be at home again after a great win at home last Saturday.”

Rowe was pleased with the number of chances Rovers carved out against the Spireites but says they must be more clinical in the remaining games against Coventry City, Crewe and Burton Albion.

He also excused referee Jeremy Simpson for chalking off a James Coppinger goal, after admitting to a foul in the build-up.

“We had a few chances,” said Rowe.

“There was one where I tried to strike it and I think I fouled him and it went in after, so I could see the referee’s point of view on that one.

“I felt comfortable in there and as a team we played our normal game.

“When it’s like that, that’s when we need to make it count.

“It didn’t happen on Tuesday night but we did the right things and we’ll take the positives from it and move onto Saturday.

“It’s a massive game for us.”
