Abdul Razak has given his word that he will sign for Rovers once international clearance has been given, according to Paul Dickov.

It will be a case of finally getting his man for Dickov who admitted he has been tracking the Ivory Coast international for the last three years.

And he is confident Razak will be in a Rovers shirt soon, despite several Championship clubs showing interest in the 22-year-old midfielder.

“You worry about another club nipping in by Abdul has given me his word,” Dickov said.

“We’re well down the line with the deal and I’d go as far as saying terms have been agreed.

“There’s other things such as international clearance, release papers from his club and things like that which are holding up at the minutes.

“It’s not a done deal but it’s all agreed.”

Former Manchester City midfielder will move from Greek side OFI Crete whose financial difficulties have seen them request Razak find a new club.

Razak left City for big spending Anzhi Makhachkala where he played in the Champions League and Europa League before the Russian outfit ran out of money.

Given his top level experience, Dickov says it will be a coup should Rovers sign the midfielder.

He said: “We’ve managed to get in there first.”
