Doncaster Rovers are out to knock League One leaders Coventry City off their perch this weekend.

And Darren Ferguson has warned the Sky Blues that they will come up against a side high on confidence.

Coventry are unbeaten at home in the league this season.

But Rovers will arrive at the Ricoh Arena in good spirits after Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Chesterfield, their fourth win in five games.

Boss Darren Ferguson said: “I thought it was a good performance, and it was good to get another clean sheet.

“If anything it makes the result on Saturday [against Rochdale] a bit more annoying.

“If we’d picked a point up there we’d have kept the run going.

“But it’s four wins out of five now, three in four in the league, so hopefully Saturday was a blip.

“We just have to keep on going.

“It puts us in an even more positive frame of mind ahead of Coventry.

“We’re going there with a lot of confidence.

“It’ll be a tough game, they’re a good team. But at least we’re going there with that confidence of knowing we’re on a good run.”

Ferguson this week spoke of his intention of adding a different type of midfielder to his squad.

Gary MacKenzie returned to training today and Paul Keegan is expected to follow suit on Monday.
