Enda Stevens is poised to extend his loan stay at Doncaster Rovers for another month.

The Aston Villa left back’s existing deal runs out after Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Oldham.

But Paul Dickov has revealed that the Dubliner is set to extend his stay at the Keepmoat Stadium until January.

“It will be getting extended,” Dickov told The Star.

“We’ve spoken to Aston Villa.

“His loan’s due to run out on Monday and we’re hopeful he’ll sign the forms either today or tomorrow to take us into January.”

Stevens has impressed since filling in for the injured Cedric Evina and, after being told by Villa that he has no future with the Premier League giants, he will jump at the chance of extending his loan stay at Rovers.

The 24-year-old, however, is an injury doubt for this weekend after agitating his back in the draw at Crewe on Saturday.

Dickov: “He’s really picked up.

“I thought he was excellent again the other night [at Barnsley] and I thought he had his best game for us at Crewe.

“He’s getting better and he’s getting stronger.

“His fitness levels are getting better as well, so fingers crossed he’ll be okay for Saturday.”
