Castle missed last weekend’s trip to new leaders Toulouse with an ankle injury but trained on Thursday and will feature if he shows no adverse reaction.

With other results going against them the Dons dropped to fifth in the table, but head coach Gary Thornton remains confident they’ll achieve their pre-season target.

“I’ve told the players that we’ve got four cup finals to play in our last four league games and if we can win them all and other results go for us then we’ll give ourselves every chance of finishing in the top four,” he said.

“We are getting bodies back and there is a lot of competition. The players know they have to play well to retain their place.

“With South Wales having only won once in the league (away at Oxford in March) this season it’s obviously a game we’ll be looking to win but we’ve got to show the right attitude.

“Despite the fact that the game has been switched to the athletics pitch we’ll be looking to play the same sort of game had it been at the Keepmoat.

“We’ve introduced a few new things in the last couple of weeks, as you have to do because teams pick up on how you play, and I thought they worked well in Toulouse.”
