Doncaster pub stops free meals for emergency workers after 'nasty comments'

The Harewood in Waterdale, which is due to re-open on Saturday, said it was also stopping delivering free meals to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

A Facebook post said: “We have been serving free food to emergency services and delivering free meals to the hospital twice daily for the last few months. We have enjoyed this and hope we have made everyone’s day a little more brighter.

“We have received many complaints and nasty comments from the traffic wardens and red coats in Doncaster regarding vehicles parking up to collect food throughout this but have just brushed them under our feet. Unfortunately this has now got on top of us as it’s a daily battle.

“We are just a small independent family owned business, the stress of the complaints is causing us to end this.”
