Managing director Jason Barnsdale said the relocation is the latest step in an overhaul of the business which began soon after he joined eight years ago.

He said: “We have developed the skills of our staff, modernised our brand and improved the way we do business. When I arrived I set a target of doubling our turnover to £1m by the end of 2016 and we are on course to achieve that with 20 per cent growth this year and the same in 2017.”

Barnsdales was founded in 1905 and built a strong reputation for residential sales and lettings under Jason’s great grandfather, grandfather and father. Jason said the staff of 17 will increase in the coming months with new graduate surveyors joining the firm.

He added: “We are active across South Yorkshire and into Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire as well as many other parts of the UK. We are becoming a national business but Doncaster has been our home for more than 100 years and this move shows our commitment to the town.”
