A Doncaster model and bodybuilder is bidding to be crowned Miss Universe after landing a place in the final of the contest.
Ilze Kacere, 29, will be going head to head with competitors from across the globe next week when she will be hoping to add to her stash of bodybuilding competition victories.
The assistant accountant, who move to the UK from her homeland Latvia ten years ago, secured her place in the final after securing second spot in the Nabba England competition in Birmingham at the weekend.
Ilze also won the NABBA Central Britain Show held at Doncaster’s Parklands Social Club earlier this month and has also secured the Miss Doncaster title for the second year running.
Her successes have now earned her a spot at the Miss Universe final in Southport on October 31.
She said: “I am really looking forward to it an I will be proud to be representing Doncaster.
“I’ve lived here for ten years now. I love England and Doncaster - I love the people and the area and I am proud to call it my home.”
Ilze, who began training at the age of 18 said: “I have always enjoyed weight training and looking after my body.”
She trains at Hercos Gym in Bentley, which is owned by her partner Neville Lockin, a bodybuilder and who first encouraged her to sign up for bodybuilding contests.
She said: “I have always been into fitness. My partner helped me with my diet and training.
“We own the fitness clothing brand Kong Wear and I also own bikini brand Fitness Dolls Wear for which I make all my stage bikinis.”
