Doncaster homeless assault: Victim critical; two more arrests

A homeless man who was seriously injured in an attack in a shop doorway was today '˜critical but stable' in hospital.

A man has now been charged with the attack, and two more arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Police revealed more details of the attack this morning, with officers revealing the report of the attack was received at 4.05am yesterday morning that a man had been assaulted on printing Office Street in Doncaster Town Centre.

The 52-year-old victim, who has been named locally as ‘Carl’ was taken to hospital where his condition described as critical but stable this morning.

Daniel Walker, 27, of Queen Street, Balby, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, 11 August).

Two other men, aged 30 and 32-years-old, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been bailed pending further police enquiries.
