Doncaster gets a piz-za the action

A POPULAR pizza chain will be coming to Doncaster with the prospect of creating more jobs for residents.

Pizza Express is to take one of two restaurant units as part of the extension of the existing Vue cinema in Doncaster’s Leisure Park.

Commercial property development and consultancy company Alaska Developments, announced that it is behind the plans.

The unit will be a 3,000 sq ft ground floor unit, after it was revealed that planning permission was granted in June of this year.

Currently the leisure park, based off Herten Way, consists of a Vue cinema offering seven screens with approximately 1,559 seats and over 150 free parking spaces.

The demise will be extended by two further screens at the rear of the cinema with two restaurant units being built at the front providing 3,000sq ft at ground floor with sufficient head heights for full mezzanines to be installed.

Knight Frank is acting on behalf of Alaska Developments.

James Weller, of retail agency Knight Frank, said there were further restaurant plans in the pipeline.

He said: “We are very pleased to have agreed terms with such a quality operator as Pizza Express who will undoubtedly complement the refurbished and extended Vue offer and we look forward to securing another prime restaurant offer for the second space.”

It is not yet known how many jobs will be created at the new site.
