Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton led the celebrations as Doncaster Foster Care Association picked up a cheque for £2,000.
Representatives from the association and Doncaster Children’s Services Trust gathered for the presentation at the Blue Building, the trust’s new HQ. DCFA was nominated by local people for the award from Lloyds Bank Community Fund, which provides grants to local good causes.
Miss Winterton said: “This is great news for Doncaster children in foster care.
Association chairman Trevor Polson said: “We’re a new organisation and this money will allow us to provide a range of activities for looked after children and their foster carers that we wouldn’t normally be able to offer.”
