Traders at Doncaster’s farmers markets have been forced to close after strong winds meant the council could not put up their gazebos up in the early hours.
Some traders have chosen to stand without gazebos.
Peter Dale. Director of Regeneration and Environment, said: “We experienced some strong winds in Doncaster this morning. Our markets team were on site from 5am to put up gazebos but unfortunately it was not safe to do so at the time of setting up the day’s market. A small number of traders have decided to stand without gazebos , which was an option. Changes to planned events like these are a very rare occurrence but the health and safety of traders and shoppers is paramount.”
