A Christmas road train has steamed through Doncaster for the first time.
The festive flyer rattled into service on town centre streets yesterday and will be carrying passengers of all ages throughout the festive period.
The train will be chugging through the town right up until Christmas Eve, transporting shoppers and youngsters on a fun journey aimed at bringing a touch of Christmas colour to Doncaster.
Visit Doncaster tourism chiefs said: “Ride the Christmas Land Train. We will have our very own train to take you through Doncaster with your Christmas shopping or just for fun.”
The train will stop at St Sepulchre Gate (next to Bargain Buys) The Market (loading bay next to The Queen pub) and Ward Brothers (for Waterdale, Cast theatre and the oudtoor ice rink.
Fares are 50p for adults and 20p for children.
The train’s arrival comes after the opening of an outdoor ice skating rink in Sir Nigel Gresley Square which opened last month and will be in action throughout the festive season and into the New Year.
