A dedicated duo have completed a gruelling challenge - after taking on a staggering eight marathons in just one week.
Charity workers Clynton Johnson and Claire Bull completed their punishing schedule at the Keepmpoat Stadium - having completed a total of 210 miles on foot and bike over the course of the week.
The Marathon Madness event was aimed at raising money for Doncaster Cancer patients.
Clynton, 38 and Claire, 42, completed four by foot and four by bike for the energy sapping challenge.
The couple’s aim ws simple - to raise as much money and awareness as possible for local cancer charity, The Eve Merton Dreams Trust, a charity that raises funds for Doncaster’s terminally ill cancer patients, to answer a dream, grant a wish or do anything to help both patient and family smile during a time they need it the most.
On top of that the charity has dedicated to donate 50% of all funds raised to the family of local school teacher Lewis Siddall who sadly lost his life following an incident in a Doncaster town centre bar in August this year. Lewis had recently raised £707 for the charity himself in May of this year as part of the annual Charity Legends Football event.
Clynton said: “My inspiration throughout training and the event and always been the families I’ve had the privilege to meet during my time with the charity. What I went through during this event was nothing compared to their personal battle”
But the six days of marathons were not without their challenges and injuries.
Claire Bull, the second charity member taking part, started the eighth and final marathon with a whole host of injuries.
They included Liotibial Band Syndrome - inflamed ligament from hip to thigh, a swollen achilles and suspected damage to ligaments in her knee.
Despite that Claire stressed at the finish: “I’m ok, the important thing for us was to raise the awareness of what the charity does so we can help as many Doncaster people as well.
The due crossed the finish line inside the Keepmoat Stadium.
