Businesses in Doncaster are being given the opportunity to join together with public sector organisations are part of a networking event due to be held this month
Next week, over 20 public sector businesses and organisations will join together at a supplier and business networking event, hosted by the Council’s Corporate Procurement and Business Doncaster teams, as part of February Business Month.
The event on February 12 at Castle Park is free to attend and will be an invaluable chance for local businesses to meet procurement specialists from a wide range of public sector organisations and other agencies all under one roof, making networking significantly easier.
Coun Bob Johnson, Cabinet member for Regeneration and Growth, said: “It is very rare as a business owner to have the opportunity to meet so many public sector specialists in one place at the same time. Whether your business is tender-ready, or just looking for more guidance and information on how to grow, then this event is an invaluable opportunity and one not to be missed. I would encourage as many businesses as possible to attend.”
The event will aim to give business owners an insight into Public Sector procurement, where suppliers can talk to buyers on an individual basis to find out about tender and procurement processes, as well as tender opportunities.
Organisations set to attend include: Doncaster Council, St Leger Homes of Doncaster, Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation, Doncaster College, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, South Yorkshire Police, Constructionline, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Crown Commercial Services, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Competefor, Ministry of Defence, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport, HM Prison Lindholme, Due North, Enterprise Europe Network and SSE, Efficiency North.
