Doncaster beauty queen hoping for Miss England win

A Doncaster beauty queen is bidding to be crowned Miss England - and could go on to take part in Miss World if she is successful.

Pretty Charlotte Sobota, aged 18, has already wowed judges in her hometown winning the Miss Doncaster title but now the determined teen is set to battle it out in the Miss England semi-finals.

Charlotte who was also a runner up in the Miss South Yorkshire competition, now has her sights set on landing a spot in the Miss England finals.

The talented teen who is studying at Greenwich university is passionate about dancing, singing and acting and hoping her skills will help her secure a coveted place in the finals.

Speaking about her previous success in the beauty pageant arena she said: “ After an amazing day at the pageant, it was surreal that I had actually walked away with the title of Miss Doncaster.”

She is now hoping to reach the national final by being voted one of the top 10 girls in the Miss England semi-final set to take place on June 11 - but with over 60 girls taking part in the contest its going to be a tough competition.

She added: “There will be 70 girls in the Miss England semi final, 12 are put through to the final to have the chance of being crowned Miss England, however, if I successfully receive the most votes I will go through to the final automatically.

“Having the amazing opportunity to go and represent Doncaster at the finals would mean the world to me, the experience alone would be unforgettable.”

The girls will be invited to participate in a sports and eco fashion round, where contestants are invited to create an outfit made from recycled materials as well as raising funds for the Miss World charity Beauty with a Purpose, all now part of the competition.

The finalists will also try and impress judges and pick up points in a talent round.

The ultimate winner of Miss England 2016 will spend her year raising awareness for various charities and will receive a whole host of prizes worth £30,000, including a luxury holiday and a place in Miss World 2016 which boasts a prize worth £100,000 for the international winner.
