Doncaster pop sensation Louis Tomlinson has met world football legend Pele.
The One Direction star tweeted a picture of himself meeting the Brazilian icon to his twenty million followers with the pair grinning as the player handed the singer a signed Brazil shirt.
He wrote: “Sooooooo this happened today ! Absolute dream , what a true gentlemen ! The best footballer of all time !”
The classic green and gold shirt was inscribed with the words: “To Louis best wishes Pele.”
Doncaster Rovers fan Louis, who fulfilled his dream by playing for the club in a reserve fixture last year, tweeted the picture shortly before he sent a tweet blasting Rovers over the recent sacking of Paul Dickov.
A few hours later, he returned to social media to hit out at the club and wrote: “Still getting over the fact my beloved Donny Rovers sacked Paul Dickov!Silly silly decision! Unfair to judge him with the poor budget given!”
The Brazilian is widely regarded to be the greatest player of all time, being voted Player of The Century in 1999, scoring 1,281 goals in 1363 games and helping his country to three World Cup wins.
However, some of the singer’s followers were bemused by the picture with one follower Jess writing: @Louis_Tomlinson who is that while others seemed more impressed that Pele should be meeting Louis with Rusiel Mae posting: “wow!!! Congrats to him to meet you.”
