Officers in Doncaster are appealing for help following a dog attack in Denaby Main.

At 5.30am on Thursday, March 26, a 57-year-old man was walking his 16-year-old Lhasa Apso, along Stoncliffe Walk.

Officers believe that two unknown dogs, believed to be a bulldog/greyhound cross breed, ran towards them and attacked the man and his Lhasa Apso.

The 57-year-old suffered minor injuries and the Lhasa Apso sadly died during the incident.

The unknown dogs were not accompanied by an owner and are believed to have ran off in the direction of a nearby restaurant.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 117 of 26 March.
