Death of Doncaster Mansion House stalwart

A former confidante to a host of Doncaster’s mayors has died.

Raymond Bailes, a retired Mayor’s Officer and Mansion House superintendent, died earlier this month, aged 80.
Mr Bailes was one of several aides employed to look after the Mansion House and accompany a succession of town mayors on public visits and official engagements.

He died on May 6 and leaves a wife, Lesley.

The funeral service will take place on May 26 at 9.20am at Rose Hill Crematorium.
