Darren Ferguson encourages positive thinking ahead of Cambridge United clash
Darren Ferguson accentuated the positives of Doncaster Rovers' current position to his squad ahead of tonight's trip to Cambridge United.
And he insists the League Two leaders - without a win in five - are not getting the jitters.
“I don’t see us being nervy in terms of the performances,” said Ferguson yesterday. “I think when you see us creating so many chances in games, and scoring goals, that suggests there isn’t nerves.
“It’s about making sure we do the fundamental things, do the nitty gritty, which I didn’t think we did great on Saturday, and I think your ability will come through in the end.
“We’re all really positive around the place. Even more so after today’s meeting. We had a reminder that we’ve only lost two in 20 and we’re top of the league with 13 games to go. At the start of the season everyone connected with the club would have taken that.”
He added: “We’re still unbeaten at home. That’s a big positive.
“Sometimes it just comes down to finding the sheer determination to get the job finished.
“But we’re in a good place. Yes, we know we haven’t picked up as many points as we would’ve liked of late.
“But I think human nature suggests there is always going to be a point where you plateau.”
