Cusworth Hall tops poll to find Doncaster's best loved building
Historic Cusworth Hall has topped an internet vote to find Doncaster's best-loved building.
The countryside mansion turned museum was a clear winner in our online poll to discover the Doncaster buildings that mean the most to you.
The 18th century Grade I listed Georgian manor house, formerly the seat of the Battie-Wrightson family and now a museum detailing Doncaster and South Yorkshire's past, beat Doncaster Minster to the title, with the 1853-built town centre church securing runners-up spot.
The pair were both well clear of third placed English Heritage gem Brodsworth Hall which completed the top three in our vote where we asked you to take your pick of the town's 12 most distinctive and well-known buildings.
Conisbrough Castle and the redundant Grand Theatre, which has been closed and crumbling for more than two decades, made up the top five while bottom of the pile was The Dome.
