Yobs caught vandalising a car belonging to a member of staff working at Doncaster Royal Infirmary have been blasted by health bosses.

The pair were spotted scratching the car in a car park at the Armthorpe Road hospital yesterday, sparking an angry response from health chiefs.

A spokesman for Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust, which runs Doncaster Royal Infirmary, said: “A colleague interrupted two individuals vandalising a car, belonging to a member of staff at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

"Under normal circumstances this is utterly unacceptable - however, given the current challenges we face fighting Covid-19 daily, this shows an astounding lack of respect.

"We ask our staff to focus their minds on looking after patients when they are at work - they should not have to wonder whether their car is safe.”
