Woman pulled to the floor in early morning Doncaster attack

A young woman was the victim of an early morning assault in Doncaster town centre.

And police are urging a witness to the alleged assault to come forward to assist with the investigation.

The incident happened at around 2am on Sunday, February 23, when a 17-year-old woman was walking along Cleveland Street towards the town centre.

As she approached the Corporation Taps pub, a man is alleged to have grabbed her and pulled her to the floor at the side the pub.

The witness; a white man, possibly in his late teens to early 20s, is believed to have seen the incident take place.

He is reported to have shouted, which is thought to have disturbed the alleged attacker as he then let the woman go and fled the scene.

The man then approached the woman to make sure she was ok before leaving a few minutes later.

Officers are urging this man to please make contact as any information he may have could be vital to the investigation.
