Officers from the Doncaster East neighbourhood policing team say they are concerned about a man operating they believe to have been in two villages who had been offering to clean guttering.

A spokesman said in a statement: “Please be vigilant in the Kirk Sandall/Edenthorpe area today.

"We have had reports of a male asking for £15.00 to clean guttering, and looking around peoples property. Once you have paid, you will not see them again. Please do not engage with doorstep sellers. Only pay for reputable people you have researched for yourself or recommendations from friends and family.”

Residents have also raised similar concerns on social media.

One post to the police said: “There is a similar post on the Auckley community folk page, including a picture of a van. Not sure if it’s linked?”
