A cash machine has been ripped out of the wall and stolen in the seventh ram raid attack in the region.
Detectives are currently investigating the theft of an ATM from McColl’s newsagents in Thorne Road, Stainforth, which is reported to have taken place at around 3.50am this morning (Monday March 16).
A forklift-type vehicle was used to remove the cash machine from the wall of a building in Thorne Road, before being loaded onto a silver pick-up vehicle, which was driven off in the direction of Field Road.
The road was closed for around six hours while enquiries were carried out and the building made safe.
Officers are exploring the possibility that this theft could be linked to others in South Yorkshire and from across the region.
