Two arrested on suspicion of murder after Mexborough death

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 28-year-old woman was found dead in Mexborough on Monday.

Officers were called to a property on Main Street at around 12.50pm today (8 June) where the woman’s body was found inside. Two men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the woman's death and a cordon remains in place at the scene while officers continue their work.

She has not yet been named.

Police are appealing for help in their investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 313 of 8 June.
