Suspended prison sentence for Doncaster man who assaulted woman at bus station

Wayne Phillip Griffiths appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 4, after admitting the offence last month.
Court records show that the incident took place at the Doncaster Freshgate Interchange on June 11 this year.

Hide AdGriffiths, 40, of Whitburn Road, Hyde Park, Doncaster, was given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, when he appeared before the court.
He must also complete 15 rehabilitation activity days with the Probation Service over the next 12 months and was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay a total of £250 in compensation to his victim by magistrates.
No prosecution costs or a victim surcharge were awarded as magistrates wanted to prioritise compensation to the victim in the case, court records state.
