All three were discovered after officers in Rotherham stopped a car in their area. Enquiries led to a house on Sylvester Avenue, Balby, and we discovered over 200 cannabis plants. Whilst there, our attention was drawn to another two houses which we heard were linked.

Further large cannabis set-ups were located and around 700 plants found. Since November 6 we have recovered plants from eight properties.

A bungled ram raid on Wednesday morning led to two arrests.

Two men fled from a shop on Hayfield Lane, Auckley, at around 12.45am, after trying to drive a van through its doors to get in.

They failed to get in, and fled in a car. We stopped them with support from traffic officers.

Two men in the car were arrested on suspicion of burglary. A third, observed on CCTV, remains outstanding.

More burglars were recently arrested after an alarm rang at a restaurant at Herten Triangle. Our officers arrived and saw a vehicle leave the scene at speed. They followed with help from our traffic department. It was eventually lost and found abandoned in Wheatley where two men were stopped running away. The vehicle was found to be stolen and there was evidence linking both to the burglary at the restaurant.

We have also seen recent distraction burglaries, where suspects knocked on the victim’s front door claiming they had done work in the road outside, but accidentally interfered with the water main. They ask the victim to turn on some taps with them, while other offenders enter the house and steal.

Please pass on the warning to elderly or single occupant neighbours and relatives.

Our off-road bike team has been busy, despite the colder, wetter weather. Latest results for Doncaster show from April 1 to October 31, 2020, they made 14 arrests, issued 139 warnings, seized 77 bikes, recovered 63 stolen vehicles and issued 31 fixed penalty tickets.
