Police today appealed for information about an unprovoked racial assault on a woman in Doncaster town centre

A 39-year-old woman was standing on St Sepulchre Gate, opposite Specsavers, talking to her husband on her mobile phone about 11.45am on March 14 when she became aware of a woman approaching shouting racist abuse.

She soon realised she was aiming the comments at her and the woman then allegedly grabbed her by her hair and repeatedly kicked her in the shins, while still shouting racist remarks.

The woman then walked away and into the Frenchgate Centre towards Sainsburys.

She was aged about 45 and white, with black hair tied in a pony tail and was wearing a white jacket with black trousers. She carried a black and white spotted handbag

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting crime reference number A/24797/2013.
