An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding an incident involving a police dog in which two members of the public suffered bite injuries.
The incident happened at 5.15pm in Lund Avenue, Barnsley on Saturday when an off duty police dog handler was taking his police dog for a walk.
Two men, one aged 19, the other aged 44, both from Barnsley, suffered injuries.
The 19-year-old suffered a minor leg injury and the other man received a more serious hand injury.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident has been launched by the Force’s Professional Standards Department.
