Man arrested in Doncaster after picking up takeaway three times over drink drive limit

A man was arrested in Doncaster last night after picking up a takeaway while three times over the drink drive limit.

The man, who was driving a blue Volkswagen, was stopped by police on Ravensworth Road, Hyde Park, after he was seen to be struggling to drive in a straight line, say officers.

Sgt Steve Roberts said: “The reason for this immediately became clear, when he was spoken to. He was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through alcohol, and provide a sample just over three times the legal limit.”

He will be charged with the offence of drink driving when he is fit to be processed in the morning, he added.
