A supermarket delivery van was targeted by a thief as it was parked at traffic lights in Doncaster.

The driver had stopped on Sandringham Road, in Intake, as he made his deliveries to internet shoppers who had bought their groceries online.

But while he was stationery, a man ran up to the vehicle and opened the door at the side of the vehicle.

He grabbed groceries from the van, and ran off.

Police are appealing for information to try to find the thief.

Officers have issued a description of the man they want to speak to.

He was around 5ft 5ins tall, of heavy build, and had short brown hair.

After stealing the groceries, he ran off along Sandringham Road, say officers.

They want to hear from anyone who may have witnesses the incident, which happened on Tuesday afternoon at around 12.40pm.
