Equipment stolen in Doncaster school burglaries

Computers, cameras and a television were among the items stolen during two burglaries at schools in Doncaster.

Staff returned to Armthorpe Academy in Mere Lane on Monday, December 2 to find that a burglary had taken place over the weekend, between 6pm on Friday November 29 and 7.30am on Monday morning. A television, a silver Sony Vaio laptop, a silver Apple iMac computer and a number of silver JVC cameras were taken.

The following day, staff at Bawtry Mayflower Primary School in Station Road, Bawtry, found that a burglary had taken place between 6pm on Monday, December 2 and 5.50am on Tuesday, December 3. Three outbuildings were entered and a number of HP laptop computers were stolen.

Chief inspector Andy Kent said: “I would urge anyone who has information about either of these offences to get in touch with us immediately.

“If you have been offered cameras or computer equipment for sale at a discounted price, or you saw someone acting suspiciously close to either of the schools, call police.”

Anyone with information on either offence should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 169 of 2 December for the Armthorpe Academy burglary, or incident number 96 of December 3 for the Bawtry Mayflower Primary School burglary.
