wheatley: A meat thief has escaped a stint in the joint and has instead been made the subject of a community order. Elizabeth Anne Rowe, 39, of Don Street admitted taking the £11.98 joint of beef from Marks and Spencers on October 21. As part of her punishment Rowe must comply with a drug rehabilitation course.
town CENTRE: A Doncaster boozer is in bad spirits after being sent to jail for a string of alcohol related offences. Aden Lee Bedford, 25, of St Vincent’s Avenue was handed a 36 week sentence overall after admitting a series of offences that took place on November 3 including breaking an anti-social behaviour order by being drunk in the town centre, breaching a drink banning order and having a kitchen knife in a public place.
hyde PARK: A night out resulted in more than just a hangover for a Doncaster man who was left with a £205 court bill. Ben Michael Hopewell, 33, of Stockhil Road admitted being drunk and disorderly on October 18 in the town centre. Hopewell was ordered to stump up £100 in fines and pay £105 in court costs. Hopewell’s guilty plea was taken into account by magistrates who imposed his sentence.
