A woman was allegedly raped during a break-in at her Doncaster home yesterday morning.
A group of three men are believed to have broken into a house in West Avenue, Woodlands at around 7.30am yesterday morning, before stealing a number of items.
One of the men is alleged to have raped a woman in the property.
The alleged offenders are described as white and aged in their mid to late 20s.
Officers investigating the incident believe the men may have left the area in a silver, Vauxhall type family sized car. The car is also described as having blacked out windows.
This incident comes just days after a woman was raped and robbed at knifepoint in an alleyway in the Queen Street area of Balby at around 11pm on Saturday night.
Detective Sergeant Chris Horsley, said police do not think the two incidents are connected at this stage.
He said: "This incident occurred at a time when a number of people would have been in the area leaving for work or dropping children off at school.
“I need those people to cast their mind back and call us if they saw this car or anything that may help the investigation.
“The woman is currently being supported by specialist officers and I would like to reassure local residents that we are treating this incident as a priority.
“At this stage we do not believe there is any link to a separate report of rape and robbery that we are investigating in the Balby area of Doncaster.
“We are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and patrols by neighbourhood officers have been increased in the area to reassure local residents.”
