DETECTIVES are calling for the public’s help to find two men suspected of an £8,000 cheque fraud.
Between June 10 and July 11 last year, two men are believed to have attempted to cash six cheques in banks across South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire.
An attempt was made to cash a cheque worth £2,760 in Bawtry on July 11 but the man was challenged by staff and turned away.
The first successful attempt was at a bank in Worksop with a cheque with a value of £2,700, the second in Dinnington with a £2,500 cheque and the third in Wickersley worth £2,750.
Anyone who believes they know the identity of the men are asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting crime reference number A/66798/2011.
