A driver was caught doing 116mph on the M18 in South Yorkshire, and this was his excuse

The motorist was stopped by police in Doncaster yesterday morning, Friday, December 27.
Officers described how they began the day by carrying out checks as part of their campaign to stop drink driving and stopped well over 50 vehicles, with one driver found to be over the limit and charged to appear at court.

Hide Ad“On the way there we found a driver on the M18 who was late for work, trying to make up for that fact by travelling at truly ridiculous speed,” they said.
“He should've allowed himself a bit more time to get to work instead of rushing.”
Drivers caught speeding face a £100 fine and three penalty points added to their licence.
If they plead not guilty and are convicted, they could be fined up to £2,500 if they were driving on a motorway and be disqualified from driving.
