STUDENTS from Dearne Valley College have collected £69.46 for the military charity Help for Heroes.
Youngsters at the Manvers Campus raised the sum by holding a cake sale, raffle, tombola and a name the teddy bear competition last week.
Tutor Debra Sutton, who helped to organise the event, said: “The students worked very hard to plan and arrange the fundraising activities to raise much needed funds for Help for Heroes.
“They worked well as a team and collected evidence for their portfolios.”
Kevin Mitchell, Volunteer County Co-ordinator South and West Yorkshire, collected the cheque on behalf of the charity.
The college is now accepting applications for courses starting September 2012.
