Emmy award-winning composer and ex-member of band The Waterboys, Martyn Swain is looking for 20 young people and 10 adults to join the professional cast of a brand new ‘Musical Fairytale’ called RUBY, which will make it’s World debut at the Leeds City Varieties Theatre from 11 - 15 September 2012.
RUBY was written and composed by Martyn, who is also the founder of new Yorkshire-based production company, The Magical Opera Company. Successful auditionees will have the chance to make up part of the show’s ‘Kids’ Chorus’ and inhabit the magical ‘Cloudworld’ with one lucky hopeful also getting the chance to play the lead role of Ruby herself.

RUBY represents an immediately accessible and breathtaking introduction to Musical Theatre, and is guaranteed to be great entertainment for the whole family. The show also includes music and libretto by Martyn Swain and orchestrations by Matt Dunkley, who has made significant arranging and conducting ontributions to Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman: The Dark Knight and Moulin Rouge.
