Churches and other organisations across the region have donated over 1,000 bags of provisions to Bassetlaw Food Bank.
In recognition of reaching this milestone, co-ordinator Carol Freeman presented a certificate to district councillor Hazel Brand (pictured), who regularly transports provisions from across the area to the Retford base.
The presentation was made at the village’s annual harvest festival. Produce now required by the Food Bank is long-life milk, jam, sugar, tinned meat meals, squash, rice, washing-up liquid, shower gel, shampoo and toothpaste. Donations may be left in Misterton at All Saints’ Parish Church or the Cycle Barn, Grovewood Road, or in West Stockwith at St Mary’s Parish Church. The Misterton Centre is a collection point for those receiving food parcels, who are unable to travel to Retford to pick them up.
