Firefighters were sent to a Doncaster village early this morning when a car caught fire.

The crew from Doncaster Fire Station, on Leger Way, were dispatched to the scene on Sheep Bridge Lane, shortly after 7am today.

They used a single hose reel on the fire to put the flames out, and were on the scene for around 30 minutes, said a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

No details were available on the cause of the fire.
