A supermarket has apologised after a Doncaster mum found maggots in grapes bought from one of their stores.

The customer posted on the Aldi UK Facebook page that she had bought the grapes from the chain’s Scawsby store to give to her one-year-old son last month.

But, she was horrified to find maggots inside.

“Just bought a pack of grapes from your Doncaster Scawsby store for my one-year-old son and had to throw them as the majority contained maggots. Very disappointed Aldi,” she said.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “The customer returned the product to our Doncaster store. We have apologised to the customer and are investigating to understand why this happened.”
