A derelict bar in Doncaster town centre is set to become a school for beauticians.

Doncaster Council has granted a planning application to convert the Kiss Bar in Silver Street into a hair and beauty training centre for Oracle Training Consultants.

The firm, currently based in Princes Street in the old Barker and Wigfall furniture shop, is a specialist training provider delivering a variety of programmes for the hair and beauty industry.

Established in 1999 and based in South Yorkshire, the company has two state of the art training centres - the other is in Rotherham - and has facilities for training with a partner organisation in London.

The Kiss and adjacent Top Dog bars have been boarded up for more than a year despite Silver Street being the busiest area of the town’s night time economy.

Oracle have been given permission to change the front elevation of the building.
