Holidaymakers and business travellers flying from Doncaster Sheffield Airport can now do so in more comfort thanks to the opening of a new luxurious departure lounge.
The Premium Lounge will provide passengers with a dedicated space to unwind before their flight or work in a relaxed setting.
In addition, several new jobs have been created and the new team will be tasked with looking after guests during their time in the lounge.
Ian Smith, commercial manager at the airport, said: “We are delighted to be taking bookings for our new Premium Lounge, the latest in a number of developments in the terminal.
“The new lounge is thanks to recent growth at the airport which will see an extra 40 plus flights take off per week with the new Flybe routes.
“Premium Lounge passengers will be able to enjoy a range of complimentary hot, soft and alcoholic drinks plus a range of hot and cold snacks.
“Importantly for travellers we will also be offering unlimited superfast WiFi.”
He added: “The Premium Lounge can be booked by any passenger travelling from the airport and members of Priority Pass, Lounge Pass and Dragon Pass are all welcome to use the lounge.”
Passengers can check in to the lounge up to three hours prior to their flight departure.
There will also be a range of menu items available from the ‘DSA Deli’ for an extra charge. It will be available from 4.30am until 9pm Monday to Friday and 5am until 9pm Saturday and Sunday.
The lounge is located directly above the main departure lounge and can be booked via www.robinhoodairport.com/at-the-airport/premium-lounge
This latest development comes after the airport recently announced a new route to the Croatian city of Dubrovnik.
Thomson and First Choice will operate the route as part of their summer 2017 flying programme. The addition of new routes, coupled with growth from other incumbent carriers, is expected to take passenger figures from 900,000 in 2015 to 1.35m in 2016.
