Robin Hood Airport has announced two new flights for its 2015-16 schedule.

Holiday firm Thomson and First Choice has revealed that next year will see the introduction of a day trip to Lapland and an additional flight to Tenerife from Doncaster.

The move is part of the UK’s leading holiday company’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations.

The additional capacity from Doncaster Airport to Tenerife on Thomson Airways will meet customer demand to this popular destination. Local customers will now have access to some of Thomson and First Choice’s most popular flagship hotels, such as Thomson Sensatori Resort Tenerife.

Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said: “Adding additional capacity to Lapland with a new day trip route from Doncaster, as well as the introduction of an additional Tenerife route, demonstrates our commitment to the airport and the local area. We know that the demand is there and we hope that expanding access will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”

Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport said, “We are delighted that Thomson and First Choice have added to their current offering with us.

“We are sure that the day trip to Lapland will be very popular with our customers and the additional flight to Tenerife will help to meet the demand for that well liked route.”
