A new Aldi store will open in a mining village next week.

The store, located on Scrooby Road, Harworth will be officially opened by students from the Harworth Church of England Academy on Thursday, January 29 at 8am.

To celebrate the official opening, Aldi is holding a Valentine’s Day themed Family Fun Day on Saturday, February 14 from 11.00am.

Customers will be able to enjoy complimentary hot food, face painters, balloon modellers and themed gift bags.

Aldi Store Manager, Jayne Adderley, said: “The team is looking forward to welcoming customers to the new store in Harworth, and we would like to thank them for their patience throughout the development.

“Aldi is proud to engage with the local community and we hope that customers enjoy our upcoming Family Fun Day in February - it should be a great day!”

Standing at 1140sqm, the store is supported by 85 car parking spaces and has created 25 new jobs for the local community.

Following the opening, the store located on Scrooby Road, Harworth, DN11 8LT, will be open:

Monday – Saturday: 8.00am – 10.00pm

Sunday: 10.00am – 4.00pm
